How do I "register" for them so I'm guaranteed a spot?

Welcome to Shadowrun!  You can register for the Shadowrun Missions at Game Day by logging into Warhorn and then 'Signing up' for the next game.  I just posted the next game for March 16 (don't sign up for Feb 16!  It's done already!).
